Solar street lights are not new products. Usually, the system contains street lamps, solar panel, solar controller, batteries, arm, pole, wires and so on.

You may find some projects in your city. They can save all electricity cost and resources. It looks like great. You may think we should use solar street lamps everywhere. However, why are they not so popular?

1. Why not so popular now

The main reason is cost. When the power consumption of street lamps is 60 Watt, it needs 150 – 170 Watt solar panel and 2 units 80 Ah batteries. The cost is near USD 1, 000. If the power consumption is higher, such as 150 Watt, the cost will be a little amazing. Many countries can not accept the price.
However, as traditional HPS street lights, the power consumption is usually 60W, 80W, 150W, 250W or 400W. So, the cost is high in most of cases. Many countries can not accept the cost.

2. LED technology

In the past two years, LED street lights become more and more popular. They use LED (Light Emitting Diode) as light sources. Comparing with traditional HPS lamps, LED lamps can save 50%-70% energy. For example, 30W, 60W, 110W and 160W LED lamps can replace 80W, 150W, 250W and 400W HPS lamps.

3. Advantages of LED Street Lights

Main advantages are as follow

1). Lower power consumption

2). Higher power efficacy – LED street lights exceed mercury vapor’s 31 lm/W. You can find higher efficacy measurement from for high pressure sodium lamps. It is just misleading because It includes wasted light that in turn wastes energy. In the market, many power efficacy of LED street lights can reach up to 80lm/w.

3). More Lux Per Watt – more than double that of a mercury vapor street light. The equivalent measurement for high pressure sodium lamps is skewed by hot spots that bump up the lux rating but cause undesirable visibility, safety and glare problems.

4) Longer lifetime (50,000 hours)

4. Why solar LED street lights will be very popular

Because LED lamps are energy saving, it can reduce cost of solar kits. When the cost is low, many countries can accept them.

For example, 60W solar LED street lamps can replace traditional 150W HPS street lamps. It will save all electricity. If you calculate ROI, you will find it’s over 30% in two years. Why not accept?

Besides, LED is in semiconductor industry. The efficiency increases quickly. The cost of solar panel will be lower in the future.

The patch panel is a vital piece of equipment in many businesses; it allows network technicians to manage phone and internet connections easily. The purpose of the patch panel is to hold network connections; fundamentally it connects different components and outlets so that networks can operate effectively. In many cases patch panels are contained within a dedicated, air conditioned and temperature controlled room; this is because they produce a large amount of heat.

The patch panel is used in many companies to control local area networks or LANs. That is not to say however that this is where the first patch panels were utilised. Many people will have seen this piece of equipment without really knowing it. Those archaic videos of phone operators plugging and unplugging phone connections were essentially carrying out the process of a patch panel. Today however the processes carried to by these operators have been automated.
Patch panel, Keystone jack , Face plate ,Network cabling, Wire management , Network cabling tool , DIP Switch , Clamp Module

Connections within the panels are made using patch cords. Cords are used extensively within the technology industries to connect computers to each other, to peripheral equipment and networks more generally. Understandably this massive use of cords can lead to a complete mess when it comes to networking. A patch panel enables the technician to order these cables effectively in a logical and simple manner. As connections are also made using sockets, the need for excessive soldering is removed.

In many instances patch panels are mounted on racks. At the front of the assembly are a number of short cables, each with a temporary connection within the front side. At the rear of the equipment there are typically longer wires that have permanent places to ensure the correct connections are made. Ultimately by utilising an array of patch panels the need for extremely expensive switching equipment is stymied.

Many industries utilise this form of equipment. Whilst it has already been stated that there use in the telecommunications industry is expansive, they are also used within recording and television studios, as well as in larger venues such as concert halls and cinemas. In this instance the panels do not control computer connections but are instead used to control electrical equipment such as microphones, speakers and video screens. In this instance they are often referred to as patch bays rather than the more general panel nomination. Even with this distinction they provide the user with similar benefits, that of ease of use and a more convenient connection process.

This article has attempted to provide the reader with some of the important information surrounding the issue of patch panelling and network management. This form of equipment has evolved from antiquated switchboard technology to a device used within many offices to allow for easy transmission of digital information.

A ball bearing is a type of rolling element bearing which employs balls to maintain separation between moving parts of a bearing. These ball bearings are used to reduce and minimalise the rotational friction and the axial and radial loads. Ball bearings achieve this by using at least two races, which contain the balls and transfer any loads through the balls. Sometimes one of the races is fixed into place.

As one of the races turns/rotates the balls rotate as well and because the balls are rolling they have a much lower coefficient of friction. It is the small surfaces of the balls between the races that allow them to have a lower load capacity for their size. The low cost of producing the ball bearing makes it less expensive than other types of bearing.

There are many different types of ball bearings mechanisms available for various applications and these can include:

o Aircraft bearing: A term generally applied to bearings used by the aircraft industry or the Air Force.
o Airframe bearing: A bearing designed for use in the control systems and surfaces of aircraft.
o Angular contact bearing: A type of ball bearing whose internal clearances and ball race locations as such as to result in a definite contact angle between the races and the balls when the bearing is used.
o Anti friction bearing: A commonly used term for rolling element bearing.
o Ball bearing: A bearing using balls as the rolling element.
o Ball cage: A device that partly surrounds the balls and travels with them.
o Ball complement: Number of balls used in a ball bearing.
o Cone: Inner ring of tapered roller bearing.
o Double row bearing: A bearing of two rolling elements.

Uses for ball bearings are vast and some typical applications can include:

o Automobile wheels
o Washing machine drum bearings
o Bicycle wheels
o Dental equipment
o Machine tools; drills, centre lathes, milling machines etc.

Other types of bearings have also been developed such as fluid bearings. These fluid bearings do not use steel balls like the more conventional ball bearing, but instead support the bearings load on a thin layer of liquid or gas. This type of bearing is generally used in computer hard drives.

Unless a property started out with a landscape design of plants native to the area, there is the potential to save money and have healthier plants by watering the landscape more efficiently. Most gardeners or landscapers don’t do it, because they don’t know what to do.

The way to find out how to cut back, where to cut back, and how much to cut back (or IF to cut back) is to take a survey of the existing system. I recently lived in a condo complex that was badly maintained and designed and could have saved at least 60% on their water bill, if they had known what to do.Heating Meter,Batch Control Meter, AWWA Standard Meter,Automatic Reading System, Test Bench, Water Meter Accessories

The water savings potential of a landscape will be determined by several things:

Existing irrigation components compared with water-efficient components on the market.
Controller programming and irrigation maintenance problems.
Types of existing plants and their compatibility with local climate conditions.
The match between actual water use and the needs of existing plants.
The length of time such a survey will take and the relative cost of it will depend on how large the grounds are, how difficult they are to navigate, and how far apart the irrigation stations and their controllers are. It will also depend on the skills of the surveyor. A professional surveyor will take half the time of an amateur and will be more thorough as well, the end result more than making up for the time and cost.

Components of a Survey

Whether a maintenance supervisor Water meterconducts the survey or accompanies a professional water conservation contractor, these are the steps that will need to be taken:

Identify water meter locations and test for leaks. Obtain the water bill that goes with each meter to provide current use.
Look for plant health and compatibility with the environment. Native plants and their garden hybrids require the least watering, since they are already acclimated. Other plants will need to receive supplemental watering.
Find the irrigation controllers and check their programming. These are the clocks that run the irrigation system. Each controller has several stations (timers) hooked up to sets of sprinklers in different locations to provide optimal watering for that location.
Turn each station on and flag problems with irrigation nozzles. Popup spray heads and rotors could be tilted sideways, clogged by small stones, have leaks in the pipes, or the spray head might be entirely missing so that water shoots up in a geyser. Each of these very common problems and others result in wasted water.
Look to make sure that each station as a whole works effectively. All the sprinklers on one station should be of the same type – all rotors or all spray heads. Because rotors and spray heads send out different amounts of water, they need to have different schedules. Bushes and grass need to be watered by different stations too, so look to make sure that all the plants on one station are of the same type. At a representative station or two, run a uniformity test to make sure that everything you want to be watered IS being watered, i.e. that the sprinklers are covering the ground they’re supposed to.
Check sample areas for soil type and water pressure. Clay soils will require a different type of watering schedule than other soils, since water absorbs slowly in clay soils. If the pressure of water flow is too low the spray won’t reach out far enough, or if it’s too high the water will mist and be blown away by the wind.
Evaluation, computation, and reporting. The inventory, the actual water use (from bills), the plant and maintenance data, the soil types, the water pressure, and current irrigation programming, the local weather zones, the equipment currently available on the market will all have to be computed and compiled into a final report that provides recommended actions to improve efficiency.

really pissed.

She told him “Tomorrow morning, I expect to find a gift in the
driveway that goes from 0 to 200 in 6 seconds AND IT BETTER BE THERE !!”

The next morning he got up early and left for work. When his wife woke
up, she looked out the window and sure enough there was a box
gift-wrapped in the middle of the driveway.

Confused, the wife put on her robe and ran out to the driveway, brought
the box back in the house.

She opened it and found a brand new bathroom scale.

Bob has been missing since Friday.

SAN DIEGO AND YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK, Calif., Sept. 13 /PRNewswire/ — SANYO North America Corporation (SANYO), has provided 10 of its pedal-assist hybrid electric bicycles, the eneloop bike, to Delaware North Companies Parks & Resorts at Yosemite, Inc. (DNC), the organization that operates hotels, restaurants and activities in Yosemite National Park located in east central California. SANYO, a world leader in environmental green technology, has introduced DNC associates to a new way of moving around the park without using gas powered vehicles. DNC received both the CY-SPA600NA and the new CY-SPH600NA models of the eneloop bike.

On the use of the eneloop bike in the park, Mr. Colin Baldock, General Manager of Guest Recreation for DNC Parks & Resorts at Yosemite, Inc. said, “The eneloop bike is a product that has obviously taken the environment into consideration, and a product that can contribute to preserving the beauty of this natural environment. DNC associates are enjoying riding the bikes and we are reviewing the appropriate application within our organization.” On a more personal note, he added, “I have been riding the bike for the last two months and love it. I sometimes look for a longer way to work just to spend more time on the bike. Riding up hills requires much less effort than on a conventional pedal bike. The eneloop bike hybrid pedal-assist concept certainly aligns itself with DNC’s Green Path environmental stewardship initiatives.”

Yosemite National Park became a national park in 1890, and was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1984. With over 3.9 million people visiting Yosemite last year, it is not only one of the Unites States’ most famous national parks, but it is also recognized by visitors from all over the world. With almost 95% of the park designated as wilderness, the majority of the visitors to the park spend time in Yosemite Valley, an area of seven square miles. This concentration of visitors to one location of limited size has led to concern over air pollution and the handling of waste in recent years.

SANYO’s eneloop bike (CY-SPA600NA) received the “Best of Innovations” Award in the Eco-Design and Sustainable Technology Category at the 2010 International Consumer Electronics Show.

The eneloop bike features a regenerative charging system similar to hybrid automobiles, which allows the bike to re-generate energy, replenishing part of its power needs through regenerative coasting and braking. The bike is equipped to not only generate energy but to store energy as well, thereby eliminating emissions and encouraging the preservation of the natural environment. The power available from its engine is also powerful enough to assist weaker riders on hills and steep inclines, allowing for a light and pleasant riding experience.

Sam Murata, President of SANYO North America Corporation commented, “We feel honored to be able to contribute in providing one of our environmental solutions to one of the world’s most famous spots of natural beauty, Yosemite National Park. With SANYO’s environmental and energy-related technologies and products, we would like to deepen our relationship both with DNC and other national parks and monuments to help provide solutions that will offer enjoyment to cyclists while serving a practical purpose of preserving the environment.” Childrens scooter , Complete skateboards , electric motor for bike , electric bikes kits , Carbon Steel Electric Bicycle , custom skateboards , skater board , floor mops , broom mop , dust mop , dust mops , blank skateboards , birdhouse skateboards , fast electric bike , Electric bike motor , electric motor for bike , electric mountain bike ,electric bicycle motor , electric motors for bicycles , Electric City bike , supa mop , sponge mop , electric folding bicycle , folding electric bike , folding electric bikes , enjoi skateboards , darkstar skateboards , complete skateboards for sale

Electric bikes that take the exertion out of cycling could soon have a bigger presence on our roads, writes Clay Lucas.

MOTORISED bicycles have until recently been little more than an oddity in Melbourne, occasionally spotted after an amateur enthusiast fixed a motor to their bike, giving the bikes a reputation for whackiness – and noise. While sales of electric bicycles in Melbourne are still small, we may soon see a lot more of them judging by enthusiasm for them overseas. In Europe, around 1 million electric bikes were sold in 2009, according to organisers of this month’s Eurobike conference in Germany. A third of all bikes sold in the Netherlands last year were electric. But it’s in the traffic-choked cities of China where the bikes have come into their own. There are now moves to more stringently regulate the 120 million electric bikes on Chinese roads. ”Almost 2500 electric-bike-related deaths were recorded [in China] in 2007. At night, pedestrians are at particular risk, because many e-cyclists drive without lights to save power,” the Economist reported in May.
